Using the Box–Behnken Response Surface Method to Study Parametric Influence to Improve the Efficiency of Helical Gears

Studying gear power loss theoretically and determining the efficiency of a helical drive depend on many geometrical working parameters, such as rotation speed, tooth number, ratio, helix angle, torque, among others. In this paper, Plackett–Burman screening design Box–Behnken response-surface method are used to consider how above parameters influence efficiency, experimental models provided evaluate these influences. The present results can be select when calculating designing transmissions choose for improving transmission efficiency.
